The Corner Where Stories Come Alive

It was never just a conversation. It was where stories were shared, resources were recommended, consejos were given, jobs were passed along, and our tienditas became the places where families knew they could find what they needed.
La esquina was a place where information moved naturally — where community knowledge was shared person to person, and where everyone left knowing a little more than when they arrived.
La Esquinita was created to bring that same spirit into the digital world. Today, opportunities exist everywhere — but too often, they remain hidden in different websites, organizations, and networks, accessible only if you know the right person, the right place, or the right question to ask.
Why a ZINE?
The way La Esquinita looks is just as intentional as what it shares. A zine is a small, independently created publication made to share stories, ideas, art, and information. For decades, zines have been used by artists, students, organizers, and marginalized communities to tell stories that weren't being told elsewhere and to make knowledge more accessible.
That spirit feels familiar. Latino communities have long created their own ways of sharing information through periódicos, newsletters, flyers, bulletin boards, neighborhood publications, and community storytelling. These weren't just sources of news—they were guides to opportunity, connection, and belonging. La Esquinita draws inspiration from both traditions.
What is a zine?
An independent publication, often handmade and photocopied, dedicated to sharing information and community voices without formal barriers.
